Don’t miss Nancy Rosenow’s article either.  Interview any of the partners in this exciting project and you’ll probably hear the same thing. Working together for kids is always fulfilling, but who knew collaboration could be this much fun?

About Community Playthings

Community Playthings has manufactured solid maple furniture and toys for children for over 60 years. We have partnered with Exchange for decades on numerous projects around the world and appreciate our continued collaboration.

Jewel’s Learning Center in Houston, Texas, has been in operation since 1987. The center has served young children and their families with dedication and a tenacious commitment to quality, knowing that it is essential to healthy child development.

Jewel’s sustained damage during Hurricane Ike in 2008. The storm destroyed two shade trees in the front yard, and another in the back, leaving the outdoor space relatively barren and subject to the intense heat of Texas summers. Community Playthings would like to see the vision of Jewel’s restored to a place where this wonderful staff can operate in an environment that best meets of needs of the children they serve.

Our Free Room-Planning service for new centers and expansions enables our planners to work with center directors to design classrooms that match their program. Because of its flexibility and retrofit capabilities across age groups, Community Playthings furniture makes it easy to meet ever-changing requirements and fluctuating enrollment.

Community Playthings will donate all the furniture and our Room-Planning services to Jewel’s makeover. We are proud to be a part of this exciting project.
